NEXUS
Three Gippsland Artists…
Gavin Roberts (timber), Crystal Stubbs (glass), and Cindy Tong (ceramic) – come together in Nexus.
Individually, each is known for their craft. Together, their works converge to spark curious, playful connections between material and form.
Three artists. Three materials. One vision.

TIMBER
Gavin Roberts
A Stratford-based sculptor working primarily with timber, creating refined forms that balance architectural precision with organic sensibility.
GLASS
Crystal Stubbs
An East Gippsland glass artist creating sculptural works that explore heat, light, and transformation through finely crafted glass forms.
CERAMIC
Cindy Tong
A Gippsland ceramic artist known for intricately carved vessels inspired by natural pattern, texture, and traditional decorative techniques.
Investing in Young Artists
This exhibition extends beyond the gallery.
Twenty-five percent of all Nexus artwork sales directly support SKILLUP: Youth Arts Education Program, a free initiative delivered by East Gippsland Art Gallery for young people aged 15–23. The program provides access to professional artists, mentoring, studio facilities, and real exhibition experience — removing financial barriers to high-quality arts education.
By acquiring a work from this exhibition, collectors play an active role in nurturing the next generation of artists, investing not only in contemporary Gippsland practice but in the future of the region’s creative community.
If you would like to support SKILLUP without purchasing an artwork, direct donations to the program are also warmly welcomed. Every contribution helps young artists develop skills, confidence, and creative pathways.
